In the aftermath of Saeni's fiasco, IMHO, there's a need to have an islamic media which are:
- Honest and not based on made up facts (hoax)
- Smart and not using logical fallacy (ad-hominem, straw men, etc) when delivering arguments
- Have a bit of sarcasm (hey this one is trendy!)
- Base in Quran/Hadist (whenever needed and in certain level)
I think it's important to challenge those so-called 'liberal media'. It's always good in discussion to have both side of the opinion/story. We can at least say "Even though I don't agree with you, I see your point and where your thought coming from". Encouraging civilized discussion.
Republika used to be good 'islamic media'. My father who is ex journalist used to subscribe to it. I grew up with it. However it went downhill nowadays. From time to time it use made-up fact in its reporting.
Now the so-called islamic media poisoned which ad-sense frenzy which will do anything (bombastic title and made up facts) just to get a click/traffic. The business of e-hate.
It's sad really.
It's not a war (or one might say ghazwul fikr) with the liberal media. It's the about the ummah, when we finally have a good islamic media that we can depend on, we can finally say goodbye to those ad-sense frenzy (e-hate) media.
